[00:00:00.0]
It's time to work with guides.
[00:00:02.0]
We have a whole bunch of slides here, and we're going to work with guides.
[00:00:07.0]
Now, in order to work with guides, we have to have our rulers present,
[00:00:10.0]
which means we've to be up in the View menu and turn on the rulers.
[00:00:15.0]
We can hide the rulers, or you can turn them on.
[00:00:19.0]
Now that we have our rulers, and you noticed we just zoomed out, you can click on the ruler and drag out a guide.
[00:00:33.0]
The guides will snap to objects.
[00:00:35.0]
Go ahead and drag out guides on all four sides of this object.
[00:00:40.0]
And you can use the guides in ways of creating a layout or isolating particular objects.
[00:00:46.0]
And you see, it'll snap right into place when it hits the center.
[00:00:51.0]
Let's go to the next slide.
[00:00:53.0]
Let's go ahead and provide some guides for this photo.
[00:00:58.0]
The zero point of your entire canvas is right smack in center.
[00:01:09.0]
Go ahead and go to the next slide. I'll provide some guides for this graphic.
[00:01:15.0]
Click and drag out.
[00:01:18.0]
Click right on the ruler and drag out, click and drag out.
[00:01:27.0]
You can see the zero-zero point. And you can get rid of guides by dragging them back into the ruler, just up here.
[00:01:35.0]
If we click the Inspector, and choose the icon which has a ruler, you'll be able to control some of the options that are here.
[00:01:50.0]
We could constrain proportions; we can move the graphic X and Y.
[00:01:58.0]
Y is always downward, X is always across. And we can control the angle as well.
[00:02:06.0]
And if we want to default this back to normal, we can zero out and hit enter.
[00:02:11.0]
You could do 90 degrees, or perhaps we can change it back to zero.
[00:02:18.0]
We can flip flop the graphics by clicking these arrows here. And we flip it left, or flip it horizontal or vertical.
[00:02:27.0]
And we also have constrain proportions.
[00:02:29.0]
And that means that the original width and height of your graphic or movie or what have you will always remain proportionate.
[00:02:37.0]
[00:02:39.0]
ays remain proportionate.
